Assistant Editor, VR Documentary Remote - Toronto (Must be Legal Canadian Resident)

Infinite Frame Media is a women-led immersive XR content creation studio focused on producing thought-provoking documentary stories. Our proprietary stereoscopic-volumetric technology allows us to film subjects and create lifelike and engaging scenarios that would not be possible in any other medium. The Choice, a VR documentary project produced in-house, recently won the Audience Choice Award at SXSW 2022.


We are looking for creative individuals with an avid interest in pushing the boundaries of interactive non-fiction immersive media. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Adobe Premiere and comfortable logging and organizing traditional audio/video footage, preferably with experience working in documentary films or other interview-based media. Experience in Virtual Reality production is not required; however, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn about the medium will be considered strengths. We want a candidate who can support production workflow and needs, adhere to deadlines and work in a collaborative, creative virtual environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ingesting, logging and organizing interview footage as needed, using Adobe Premiere and associated software

  • Working with the Creative Director to put together assemblies and rough cuts of footage, to guide production on the VR element

  • Importing and adjusting transcripts to sync with interview footage.

  • Organize interview footage with logging based on defined parameters.


Required Skills

  • 3+ years professional experience in editing for traditional media.

  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and expertise in Premiere

  • Excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a diverse team.

  • Excellent problem solving and lateral thinking skills.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and provide technical solutions & recommendations.

  • Self motivation and ability to work effectively remotely with communication between multiple time zones.


Bonus Skills & Strengths

  • Strong creative leadership with a portfolio of creative projects.

  • Experience in documentary filmmaking or other talking-head formats.

  • Editing credit on a broadcast or theatrical title.

  • Owns Meta Quest or other VR devices.

  • A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Media Production, or other equivalent fields.
